Free Creative Business Training

Cumbria artsCumbria Institute of the Arts is offering places on a free short course to anyone interested in developing a creative business.

Creative people with a business idea are invited to attend Cumbria Institute of the Arts Brampton Road campus for 8 weekly evening seminars, starting on Wednesday 5th October 2005, from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.  Participants who attend all 8 weeks and complete a straightforward business plan are then entitled to apply for a Business Link business start-up (POINT programme) grant of £1,000 - to make their business dreams a reality.

The short course has been developed by Cumbria Institute of the Arts in partnership with Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  Both organisations have identified a real need for training which focuses on the specific skills required to run a successful creative business enterprise. 

The comprehensive Creative Business Training Course runs over 8 weeks.  Subjects covered include Marketing Research, Business Planning, Presentation and Pitching Skills, Website and Print Design, Working with Schools, Working with Communities, as well as Banking, Leadership and Law issues.

A wide range of experienced business trainers have been hand-picked from the region to deliver the course.

Course participants will also have the opportunity as part of the course to talk in more detail about their business ideas with accredited business advisers, on a one-to-one basis.  The business advisors will provide invaluable guidance and advice to assist individuals in developing their business plans.
